Top 7 Reasons for Buying Specially Designed Girl sleeping Bags
If your family likes camping, or even if you’re heading out on your very first outdoor adventure together, you’re
going to need to invest in the right equipment. If you have kids, that means equipping them too. There are plenty
of reasons why specially designed and manufactured girl sleeping bags are a better idea for your daughter and here
are our top 7:
1. If you were thinking of donating one of your old, hand me down sleeping bags to your daughter, don’t. Over time,
the insulation and covering material will be worn, and that means lumps, bumps and a drafty sleep. You wouldn’t do
it to yourself, so don’t do it to your daughter!
2. Another great reason for investing in girl sleeping bags is that adult sleeping bags are much larger. That means
more space to heat, and more space around their bodies. That means less heat efficiency, and your daughter will
have a colder, less comfortable sleep.
3. Even if you were considering buying a new adult bag, don’t. Not only for the other reasons here. When it comes
to cost, boys and girl sleeping bags cost a fraction of adult bags, and for around $50 to $100, you can get them a
really great bag.
4. Another good reason is that if you are hiking to your campsite, chances are your kids will be carrying their own
bags. Girl sleeping bags are a lot lighter than their adult counterparts, and make it easier for your daughters to
carry their own packs. Otherwise, you’ll either listen to whining the whole way there, or you’ll end up carrying
everything yourself. Neither is ideal.
5. Most girl sleeping bags come with a built in pillow pocket. That means that your kids can put their pillows in
their bags. That means more comfortable sleep and happier kids in the morning!
6. Adult’s sleeping bags, no matter how expensive or high tech, tend to come in rather boring, staid and
conservative colors. Girl sleeping bags however, have funky designs inside, and cool colors outside. It doesn’t
affect the thermal capacity of the bag one bit, but it does impact on your child’s cool factor, which is a big deal
to them!
7. Many kids and girl sleeping bags are also more water resistant than the grownup equivalent. As any parent knows,
kids are messy little beings, and if you’d rather not spend all night attempting to dry a juice stain by
alternately blowing until you’re blue in the face, and singing your fingers on the fire, it makes good sense to
invest in that particular feature!
As you can see, while there are plenty of great adult sleeping bags on the market, there are some pretty specific
reasons that girl sleeping bags are a great buy. So if you’re planning a family camping or hiking trip anywhere in
the near future, and you have daughters, make sure a shopping trip for girl sleeping bags is on your to do list!
You’ll be ever so grateful you did it!
