Surrender To The Thrill Of Camps With Camping Sleeping Bags
Your waxen poise will definitely break into a grin if you are invited for a camping trip because the enjoyment
of such a camp will be too good to resist. When you go for such outings, camping sleeping bags are absolutely
necessary.
Sleeping bags can be used for varied purposes. Each of this sleeping bag is different. For example, a sleeping
bag used for kids is very much different from the one that is useful in a trekking expedition undertaken in a
mountain where the temperatures are much below the normal temperature.
Bags that are used indoors need not be weatherproof. Since they are used for having a nice and delicious sleep,
they are rightly named as slumber bags. In general, these bags are made from natural yarn than by using synthetic
material. But camping sleeping bags are made using synthetic fabrics. In camps, you sleep on the floor and only
sleeping bags made of synthetic fabric can provide the warmth required during the camps.
A lot of research is being done to improve the quality of sleeping bags to cater to the various needs of the
users. But the first prototype of sleeping bags was made in 1861 using camel fur and kapok for insulating the
person from the chillness outside. Subsequently, duck and goose fur were used. But it was in the 1890's that
sleeping bags were made for commercial purposes.

The usual shapes of camping sleeping bags are rectangle and mummy shape. In a rectangular-shaped bag, there will
be more space for free movement and the warmth is also retained. But in a mummy shaped bag that is tapered, you
have lesser space at the feet side so that more warmth is maintained near the feet. Even the neck and head are
protected from the chillness and when you get into the bag, the mouth and nose get exposed.
Camping sleeping bags are made with special insulation materials like down and synthetic. If you consider the
quality, weight and bulk, goose down stands apart as a very good insulator. But the problem with goose down made
sleeping bags is that the insulation will not be very good when this bag becomes wet. It is not easy to wash and
dry these bags also. Goose down bags are costlier than bags made with synthetic fiber. You have different varieties
of synthetic fibers like Microloft, Hollowfibre, and Polarguard. These are much more heavier and bulkier than down
camping sleeping bags. The benefits of synthetic sleeping bags are that they are water-resistant and the insulation
does not get reduced when the bags get wet. Synthetic sleeping bags are less costly also.
You should be very careful when you purchase your sleeping bags. Though cost of the bags is a factor that has to
be considered, you should also take into account if the camping sleeping bags you choose conform to the standards
you expect from them. If your trekking camp is in very chill conditions and if your sleeping bag can not protect
you from that chill weather, you are not getting the benefit you expect from the bag. Similarly if your camping
program is in hot and humid conditions, you need not have that much insulation from chill weather. If you choose
the most appropriate camping sleeping bags that suit the camping occasions, your camping will be a pleasurable and
unforgettable experience
